Billing Brook School is a large, successful special school
in Northampton, serving children and young people aged between 4 and 18. All pupils
have an Education, Health and Care Plan. The school caters for a range of
complex needs in particular:
· Significant
to severe cognition and learning difficulties
· Speech,
Language and Communication difficulties
Typically, pupils have a combination of special educational
needs, the majority are autistic. Whilst we recognise that our children and
young people have special educational needs, we also work hard to value, celebrate and build upon their strengths.
We are currently seeking to recruit classroom teachers to
work in either in our Primary or Secondary phases.
Our purpose is to provide relevant knowledge, skills and
experiences to help pupils become:

individuals able to effectively communicate
· Healthy,
resilient individuals ready to leave fulfilling lives
· Independent
young people whose life is filled with meaningful and purposeful activity.

will work proactively and who are ambitious for our children and young people
to be curious, kind and have a real sense of belonging within our school community.
In particular, we are looking for someone who:
· Wants
to teach a purposeful, meaningful curriculum to help prepare pupils for
adulthood
· Can
adapt and adjust their teaching to motivate and engage pupils by being creative
and inspiring
· Has a
desire to develop their knowledge, skills and understanding relating to SEND
· Has a
positive attitude, is resilient and able to keep calm

We do not expect teachers to come to school knowing
“everything there is to know” about SEND, however previous experience would be
