About this Role

Simon Balle Music Assistant.

Overall purpose of the job

Simon Balle Music is a vibrant community of musicians from Reception to Year 13. 30% of our school has instrumental or vocal lessons and 25% are involved in enrichment each week. We have a programme of 40+ concerts, recitals and events each year and our musical outcomes are way above local and national data. 250+ students take a music exam each year. This role sits at the heart of Team Music, providing operational and logistical support, supporting the smooth running of all our musical work.

The role will support the Music Manager and Director of Music. The assistant will support the Music Manager with operations within Team Music, completing tasks as delegated. This could include, but is not limited to supporting events and concerts, processing data and records, preparing music for ensembles, maintaining our instrument stock and stewarding for exams. It is important that applicants have an understanding of music education and music.

A key part of this role will be to develop new approaches to our processes to make them even more efficient, developing our use of technology, ensuring the smooth running and team efficiency within Simon Balle Music.

The role is for 15 hours per week Term Time plus one week to include a Wednesday from 2.30pm until 9.30pm (the start time can be negotiated).
