About this Role

The Academy is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic individual who can work alongside our Leader of Literacy to promote a love of reading across and throughout the school. The successful applicant will also play an integral role in the organisation and delivery of our highly effective reading intervention programme, Lexonik as well as helping to develop our students’ study skills, including how to access and research information to supplement their learning. The school has a purpose-built library from where the successful applicant will be based and, as such, there will be the opportunity to aid the strategic development of this bespoke space to ensure it serves the needs of all our students.

We are extremely proud of our enthusiastic and ambitious staff who are committed to helping our students become the very best they can be. We are therefore seeking an ambitious and dedicated individual who can help us in our mission and this highly important aspect of our school development.

The academy enjoys the active support of the newly formed St Gabriel the Archangel CMAT and the Archdiocese of Birmingham. As such, the successful candidate will enjoy access to a wide range of professional development.

The Academy are committed to the safeguarding and welfare of children and young people and expects all of its employees to share this commitment. This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Amendment Order 1986 and, as such, it will be necessary for a Submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous convictions. Shortlisted candidates will be subject to an online/social media check in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education, September 2023.
