About this Role

The Academy wishes to appoint a dynamic practising Catholic who will have an outstanding ability to support and develop the Academy’s liturgical and wider Catholic life. The role of the Lay Chaplain is an integral position and lies at the very heart of the school and its very special and distinctive Lasallian charism.

 We are looking for someone who;

  • ·       Has a strong Catholic Faith
  • ·       Works well with young people
  • ·       Wants to inspire and support the development of the faith of the young people and staff
  • ·       Is willing to lead retreats and pilgrimages
  • ·       Has the skills to prepare and deliver high quality resources and acts of worship for our students

The successful candidate will be of an excellent quality and be able to place their faith at the forefront of everything they do, helping to guide and develop the spiritual life of the school and everyone within our community.

The Academy enjoys the active support of the newly formed St Gabriel the Archangel CMAT and the Archdiocese of Birmingham. As such, the successful candidate will enjoy access to a wide range of professional development.

The Academy is committed to the safeguarding and welfare of children and young people and expects all of its employees to share this commitment. This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Amendment Order 1986 and, as such, it will be necessary for a Submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous convictions. Shortlisted candidates will be subject to an online/social media check in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education, September 2023.

 Potential candidates are welcome to visit the school by appointment, by contacting Mrs K McGough (Academy Manager)
