The academy offers an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic person to join our team at Beacon Academy as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) / Cover Supervisor. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, innovative, and committed individual with high expectations of students and themselves. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the continuity of learning and maintaining a positive educational environment.

You will be responsible for managing and delivering a range of learning-related activities under an agreed system of supervision, supporting and complementing the professional work of our teaching staff. This will involve providing cover supervision for absent teachers , assisting in lesson planning, and delivering planned learning activities to achieve curriculum objectives. You will also assess pupil achievement, provide feedback, and support the development of a calm learning ethos.

You will work as part of a wider, proven, and successful team in the school, and you will be well supported. Wellspring Academy Trust and Beacon Academy believe in investing in our staff. We have a strong CPD offer, and all new staff will receive a supportive induction programme. We are particularly interested in candidates who have achieved Higher Level Teaching Assistant accreditation or equivalent qualification and experience.

If you are driven to ensure the highest possible standards of learning support, progress, and achievement, then we warmly invite you to apply and join our convivial team.

We are a small school and so it is possible to develop strong relationships. To support this, we introduced a new coaching group approach for staff and students in September. Our students are enthusiastic and enjoy interactive lessons from passionate staff; they respond well to strong, trusting relationships. Having recently appointed new leaders at the Academy, Beacon Academy has a renewed focus on student development, both academically and in personal growth. We are about to embark on new and innovative strategies in school, so this would be an exciting time to join the team.

We encourage any applicant to come and visit the school or to book an informal phone conversation about this role with a member of the leadership team. Please feel free to contact us by email hr@beaconacademy.co.uk to arrange a suitable time.
