The Pioneer Learning Trust is a small but growing Trust of collaborative schools in Luton and Bedford. The Trust currently consists of The Ferrars Academy, Chantry Primary Academy, Southfield Primary Academy, Whitefield Primary Academy, Ferrars Junior School , Warden Hill Infant School and Lakeview School.

We are located on the outskirts of Luton close to the M1, A5 link roads and the L&D hospital. Our 3-form entry school has a very diverse school population with a range of different languages, religions and cultures. Our children are well behaved and learn in a vibrant and friendly environment.

About the job

We are looking to appoint a L2 SEND Teaching Assistant

Under the direction of the SENDCo and class teacher you will be required to support pupils and staff through the provision of general assistance in the classroom and the school, or to support a small group of children or a child on a one-to-one basis with additional needs.

Working hours: 35 hours per week

Monday to Friday 8.15am - to 4:15pm with 1 hour lunch break

Term time only plus 5 inset days (38 weeks a year)

£20,112 -  £20,430 actual annual salary

Fixed term contract until August 2027 (with a possibility of extending beyond then)

  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and good communication skills
  • Display good practice when supporting individuals or small groups
  • Demonstrate high expectations of pupil attainment and behaviour by having good knowledge of the curriculum
