Contract: Permanent; however, we are also open to flexible working requests.

We are looking for a high-calibre Teacher of English to join our successful English Department, one who will enthuse students through high-quality teaching and learning, encouraging all students to develop their potential to the fullest. The successful candidate will be a teacher who is passionate about all aspects of English with a drive to make a difference and maintain our high standards.

Our English department is hugely important to us at St Andrew the Apostle School. In 2025, our GCSE progress was in the top 5% nationally, and attainment was significantly above the national average. Our learners enjoy English lessons and the wider experience our English curriculum offers.

For the right candidate, there is also an additional opportunity to take on the role of Head of Year, with a TLR available. This role would suit someone with strong pastoral skills, excellent communication, and a desire to make a positive impact on whole‑year‑group progress and wellbeing.
