The Safeguarding and attendance Officer will:
• Work proactively and collaboratively to support the school to ensure that the highest possible standards of safeguarding are in place, exercising professional curiosity.
• Be the part of the front-line team as a contact for safeguarding issues arising on a day to day basis.
The Safeguarding and Attendance Officer will work independently and alongside key staff in school and the Local Authority to:
• Promote excellent attendance and punctuality for all children.
• Reduce levels of absence and persistent absence.
• Work with children and families to promote high levels of attendance and punctuality.
We are looking to appoint someone who:
• Is able to adapt easily and learn new systems and procedures.
• Knows how to interpret and understand information and data.
• Has a working knowledge of safeguarding requirements and their vital importance.
• Has proven ICT skills.
• Is able to work with parents/carers effectively and sensitively.
• Is able to work with understanding, compassion, tact and diplomacy, alongside being able to be direct.
• Is able to foster, develop and maintain positive relationships on a variety of levels.
