About this Role

Required for September 2024, the Academy Council of this high achieving and oversubscribed Catholic Voluntary Academy is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and adaptable Inclusion Support Worker to support and engage with students who face challenges accessing the curriculum or are temporarily unable to do so. This is an exciting opportunity to bring fresh ideas to motivate and support student engagement and welfare.

Working alongside teachers and inclusion staff, the successful postholder will have experience of delivering a range of interventions by addressing the needs of specific pupils who require help in overcoming barriers to learning, both inside and outside of school.  The support will aim to help pupils realise their full potential in line with the school’s mission statement with a focus on helping all children’s behaviour become self-regulating.

You will have effective and efficient organisational skills, be able to work as part of a team and use your own initiative. Good literacy and numeracy skills are essential.

What are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will have:

  • the ability to build a rapport with students and a passion for education and learning;
  • resilience and a strong commitment to our aims in supporting the inclusion of our pupils;
  • the ability to help create an environment where students feel they belong, are cared for and know that they care supported;
  • can create a positive climate for learning and good daily routines;
  • can inspire and challenge young people;
  • excellent communication and IT skills;
  • the ability to work as part of a team;
  • a high standard of education including Maths and English.

What can we offer you?

  • a highly experienced, talented, supportive team of staff;
  • enthusiastic students who are eager to learn;
  • employee discount scheme (offering cycle to work scheme, gym membership, money saving offers across hundreds of the UK’s favourite high-street and online retailers, home and electrical items);
  • access to our Employee Assistance Programme (Education Support);
  • on-site parking and access to canteen;
  • company Pension Scheme;
  • a supportive organisation with the commitment to professional development and wellbeing.
