We are seeking an
inspirational, highly motivated and innovative Deputy Learning Director of
English to join our welcoming and high performing English team. We believe all
students have the right to experience an academically rich and inclusive
curriculum, where all students learn to develop and hone their own creative
voice.
The role: The English curriculum
is of core importance to our students’ journeys, with students studying a range
of canonical and diverse texts throughout their studies. Our KS 3 curriculum
has been designed to ensure that students have the necessary breadth and depth
of skills to be successful in their GCSE studies. We have a flourishing A level
cohort, teaching both English language and English literature. Our department
is friendly, collaborative and dedicated to being the best we can be, utilising
examiner experience and professional development opportunities to ensure we
secure excellent progress for our students.

Kingsthorpe College is an oversubscribed 11-18 school with approximately 1,400 students on roll (200 students post 16) Graded Good in all areas by Ofsted in December 2019, we are now looking forward to the next stage of our journey from good to Great. During a recent interim inspection, inspectors noted significant improvements since their previous visit, highlighting high expectations of pupils, strong pupil progress, our safe and secure learning environment, and enriched curriculum.
