This is a unique opportunity to teach, inspire and grow in a truly supportive SEND setting. Foxwood Academy is looking for a passionate and committed Class Teacher to join our friendly and experienced team from September 2026.
This role is to cover maternity leave initially but as we expand, there may be the possibility of an offer of a permanent role.
Foxwood Academy is an all-age area special school for over 112 pupils aged 4-18, offering support for a wide range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
At Foxwood, we have a highly skilled team of around 60 dedicated staff members, wholly committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for our students. We provide a safe, nurturing environment where every student, each with an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP), is empowered to achieve their fullest potential. Around 75% of our students have an Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC or ASD), and others have sensory and/or physical needs. Our core values—Education, Independence, Celebration, and Learning for Life—guide our actions and decisions:
· Education: We believe every child with
special educational needs deserves the highest quality education, provided by
the best teachers in the best schools and academies.
· Independence: We aim to give every child and
young person the opportunity to be as independent as possible.
· Celebration: We foster happiness and
celebrate each child's role in our community.
· Learning for Life: Foxwood Academy serves as a stepping-stone to a bright future, preparing young adults to be happy, healthy, independent, and active members of society.
This is an exciting time to join Foxwood Academy. We have recently merged our Trust with White Hill Park Trust and are in the process of planning and designing a new purpose-built secondary special school on the same campus as our current building. With plans to increase our student numbers to 250, we are looking for passionate individuals to be part of this unique, once-in-a-career journey.
