About this Role

Administration Assistant

Part Time – 33.75 hours per week (Term Time Only plus 5 inset days – 39 weeks per year)
Start Date: 2nd September 2026
Location: Gooseacre Primary Academy, South Yorkshire

Are you an organised and proactive administrator with a passion for supporting education? Gooseacre Primary Academy is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Administration Assistant to join our vibrant team on a term-time only basis. This is a permanent role.

About the Role:

As an Administration Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the smooth and efficient running of the school. You will provide high-quality administrative and clerical support to staff, pupils, and parents, ensuring effective communication, accurate record-keeping, and a welcoming front-facing service across the academy. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a wide range of administrative support across the school
  • Support reception duties, including managing visitors, issuing badges, and overseeing sign-in procedures
  • Coordinate communications with staff, pupils, and parents
  • Manage school systems, including pupil data (MIS/Bromcom)
  • Support the organisation of school trips, events, parents’ evenings, and extracurricular activities
  • Assist with onboarding new pupils and maintaining accurate records
  • Coordinate with catering regarding menus and pupil allergens
  • Manage pupil medication and support health and safety processes (e.g. fire drills)
  • Provide administrative support to the Senior Leadership Team as required

What We're Looking For:

Essential:

  • Experience in a busy administrative role
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build positive relationships
  • Confidence using IT systems (e.g. Microsoft Office, databases)
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information in line with GDPR
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths
  • A proactive, flexible, and team-focused approach

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of school systems (e.g. Bromcom)
  • Willingness to undertake First Aid and medication administration training
