SIXTH FORM STUDENT SUPPORT OFFICER & STAFF COVER ADMINISTRATOR REQUIRED FOR SEPTEMBER 2026

36 HOURS PER WEEK, TERM TIME ONLY PLUS ONE WEEK IN THE SUMMER HOLIDAYS (AROUND PUBLIC EXAMINATIONS)

MONDAY-FRIDAY: 07:00-15:05 (7 HOURS, 35 MINS PER DAY)

WEDNESDAY: 07:00-12:40 (5 HOURS, 40 MINS)

SCALE 5 POINT 11-15 (£32,070 - £33,987) PAID PRO-RATA


We are seeking a proactive and organised individual to join our supportive Sixth Form team as a Student Support Officer & Staff Cover Administrator. This exciting role combines Sixth Form administration, student support, and the essential daily management of staff cover. 

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with our wonderful Sixth Form students and support with the administration of the Sixth Form. The varied role would be especially appealing to graduates interested in getting school experience prior to teaching.

 The role involves four key strands:

Admin: supporting the Head of Sixth Form with administrative support for the day-to-day operation and strategic planning of the Sixth Form.

Student Support: supervising sixth form students during their study periods and supporting their academic and pastoral needs where appropriate.

Enrichment: encouraging students to pursue super-curricular and extra-curricular opportunities and liaising with universities, employers and external speakers about opportunities they have to offer.

Managing daily staff absence and cover arrangements, including: liaising with agencies, allocating cover, and ensuring all checks and records are up to date


There is scope to further develop the role in line with the skills and experience of the successful candidate.
