About this Role

We are seeking a Cover Supervisor to join our school. Experience is not necessary as training will be given. The successful applicant will supervise students to complete pre-set work in the absence of a teacher, creating and maintaining a purposeful learning environment. They will also supervise students using the school library.

This role is term time only (plus 5 training days). 32 hours per week 8am to 3.15pm, Monday to Thursday and 8am to 1pm on a Friday. Part-time application would be considered, however for operational reasons the applicant would need to commence at 8am.

We are a successful forward thinking Upper School based in a beautiful rural setting in the heart of central Bedfordshire with excellent transport links.   We are very lucky to occupy a large site, with lots of green, outside space for our students and staff to enjoy.

We offer staff the opportunity to work in a friendly, supportive community with talented, caring and dedicated colleagues. We have implemented a 1pm Friday school finish time to support staff and student well-being. Please see our Staff Wellbeing Charter for our wider approach to staff well-being.

What makes Harlington Upper School special is the real sense of community that you can see and sense as you walk around the school. Each individual child is important to us, and our expectation is that all our students will develop and grow as young people as they make their journey as part of our community. The quality of teaching is strong, and our staff are talented, caring and dedicated, and we are very proud of our staff and students.

Prospective candidates are welcome to contact us for a tour of the school.

We can offer:

  •  Wonderful students who have a passion for learning and deserve the very best.
  • A team of talented and highly committed staff.
  • A supportive working environment with excellent facilities.
  • Opportunities for ongoing professional development.
  • A unique rural location in Central Bedfordshire.
  • Local Government Pension Scheme
