We're looking for a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant with additional responsibilities as Lead for outdoor and alternative provision to become a vital part of our community and help us create a positive and stimulating learning environment where every child can flourish.

This role is 37 hours per week, 40 weeks per year (term time, plus non-pupil days and one week during the school closure periods)

The working pattern will be Monday – Thursday: 08.30am-16.30pm and Fridays 08:30am–16:00pm

A Day in the Life:

You'll be responsible for bringing your passion and expertise to the following areas:

• Plan and deliver engaging, SEMH, academic curriculum-linked outdoor and alternative learning experiences that use practical, creative activities to support and re-engage students of all abilities.

• Provide curriculum-linked outdoor learning opportunities that support key subjects such as science, geography, PE, geography and personal development.

• Build positive relationships with students, particularly those at risk of exclusion or disengagement.

• Promote social, emotional, and behavioural development through structured intervention and mentoring

• Complete and maintain thorough risk assessments for all sessions and outdoor areas

• Work alongside teaching and Inclusion staff to integrate outdoor and alternative provision into the wider curriculum and inclusion strategy.

• Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to support student progress and wellbeing.

• Experience working with young people (11 - 16years) in an education, youth work or alternative provision setting

• Experience supporting students with SEMH needs, SEND, or behavioural challenges

• The ability to use your own initiative to resolve routine problems independently

• A passion for working with children and helping them succeed 

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
