36 hours per week (term time only) Start Date: September 2026 Fixed term for one year in the first instance
We are seeking to appoint an empathetic, organised individual to serve as a key adult for students eligible for SEND provision and Pupil Premium funding. In this role, you will champion these students by breaking down learning barriers, improving attendance and punctuality, standards of uniform and building academic confidence and resilience. You would work closely with families, teaching staff and external agencies to improve engagement and secure positive educational outcomes. The ideal candidate would be a proactive professional with HLTA status or equivalent and a track record with secondary students. You should have a solid understanding of SEND strategies, exceptional interpersonal skills to build trust, and strong ICT and organisational abilities. Experience with vulnerable students, academic interventions, and safeguarding requirements is highly desirable.
Coombe Boys’ is a popular and highly successful non-selective 11-18 school that is federated with Coombe Girls’ School and three local primary schools to comprise the Coombe Academy Trust, based in New Malden. Coombe Boys’ has approximately 1,000 students on roll, including a mixed sixth form.Results at GCSE and in the Sixth Form are significantly above national averages and the school was graded Good with Outstanding Leadership & Management in its most recent Ofsted inspection (September 2023).
