About this Role

Furze Platt is a highly successful mixed comprehensive school serving the children of Maidenhead.   At Furze Platt, 1500 students of all abilities develop the skills and qualities to enable them to excel in the future.  We are a highly ambitious, high-achieving and fully inclusive school in which our students are challenged and supported to achieve excellence.

We are privileged to have a recently built fully functional Theatre with state of the art lighting and sound. The Theatre, with a capacity of up to 500, is a venue for school productions, professional performances and a large number of local community groups.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to join our team to further grow the range and number of events within our Theatre, maximising the benefits for both the school and the community. We are seeking an individual with an enthusiasm for theatre, performance and the arts to manage external bookings and promote the theatre, as well as our other lettings.

You will be the main contact for prospective theatre hirers and will support clients from initial enquiry through to their events taking place. You will be responsible for recruiting and overseeing our bank of theatre technicians who will work on a casual basis operating the lighting and audio aspects for external hirers.

This role requires someone with great organisational and project management skills who is calm under pressure and enjoys working with a wide range of people including theatre hirers, school staff, theatre technicians and PTFA volunteers.

Core hours will be 22.5 per week and you will work flexibly in line with Theatre requirements. You will ensure that events and functions have sufficient staff cover to operate safely and efficiently and/or take on the role of duty manager at events.

Furze Platt Senior School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and we expect all staff to share this commitment.  This post is subject to an enhanced disclosure via the Disclosure and Barring Service.
