School Staff Instructor (SSI) – Extending The Boundaries of Learning Assistant
37 hours per week | 41 weeks per year (term time plus an additional 15 days for inset days/camps)
Salary: £31,972.95 (Grade 9 - Meridian Trust pay scale)
Stamford Welland Academy is seeking to appoint a committed and highly organised School Staff Instructor (SSI) to coordinate our Combined Cadet Force (CCF) provision and support our Assistant Principal with Extending the Boundaries of Learning.
This is a key role within the Academy, supporting students’ personal development, leadership skills and character education through a high-quality cadet programme, alongside contributing to the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme. You will also be involved in supporting the Assistant Principal with all other aspects of our Extending the Boundaries of Learning offer.

The Role
The School Staff Instructor will be responsible for the day-to-day organisation, planning and safe operation of the CCF, working closely with senior leaders, service instructors and external partners. They will plan and deliver the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme and support with all aspects of our Extending the Boundaries of Learning offer.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
· Has experience working with young people, ideally within education, cadets or youth services
· Is highly organised, calm and able to manage challenging situations professionally
· Demonstrates a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
· Can work flexibly, including occasional weekends and residential activities
· Is enthusiastic, reliable and able to act on their own initiative
Experience of CCF, military instruction or outdoor education is desirable but not essential, as training can be provided for the right candidate.
