About this Role

Do you have a good sense of humour, a welcoming smile and the ability to work flexibly and independently? If so, we have a wonderful opportunity for you to join our dedicated and enthusiastic team.

Summercroft Primary School is seeking to appoint a Business Management Administrator who will provide a professional and friendly reception service while supporting the Headteacher and Business Manager with the effective management of pupil data, pupil admissions and the safe administration of medication in line with school policies.

We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, strong ICT capability, and plenty of common sense—someone who is friendly, adaptable and able to multi‑task in a busy environment while maintaining great attention to detail. Previous experience of working in a school office (including First Aid) and/or knowledge of Arbor or other MIS systems would be a distinct advantage, although full training will be provided for the right candidate.

This position is 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term time only (38 weeks) plus five additional days to be worked across the academic year prior to the start of each term, supporting key processes and ensuring readiness for pupils’ return. The role is graded at H4 (£26,718 – £27,983) per annum, pro rata (£15,442-£16,173).

Visits to Summercroft prior to application are warmly welcomed and encouraged.

Summercroft Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share in this commitment. All post‑holders are subject to a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Our Child Protection and Recruitment Policies follow Hertfordshire County Council guidance and can be found on our website.
