About this Role

Learning Support Mentor


The Linden Academy has an excellent opportunity for a Learning Support Mentor to join our team to provide learning support to individual and small groups of pupils across the academy.  The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and be a great team player, skilled at connecting with students and offering the appropriate assistance.  We are seeking a highly motivated and committed individual who is passionate about supporting the pupils to achieve their potential.

Key Duties

  • To promote positive behaviour patterns, raise self-esteem and improve independent working in pupils to assist their education and growth.
  • To support the learning development of pupils.
  • To promote and support inclusion for all children including pupils with SEN, EAL and those with a physical disability.
  • To build and maintain positive and professional relationships with staff, pupils and parents treating all children consistently, with respect and consideration.
  • To develop and agree action plans for individual pupils and groups of pupils, working in conjunction with the class teacher.

The successful candidate will have

  • Classroom support experience
  • Experience of working with children with SEND and EAL
  • At least C grade or equivalent in English and Maths GCSE
  • Committed and keen to make a difference
  • Desirable, experience of supporting children 1:1


Job Specifics

Start date:    September 2024 

Salary:             NJC L1b 2-3 £22,366-£22,737 pro rata salary £17,655 - £17,948

Job Role:        Permanent, Full time, Term Time + 5 Inset days, 8:15am – 3:30pm with 30-minute lunch break 33.75 hours per week
