About this Role

We’re looking for an inspiring and forward‑thinking Assistant Headteacher to join our leadership team at Kirkby Stephen Grammar School. This is a fantastic opportunity for an exceptional teacher and leader who is passionate about driving teaching and learning excellence across the school. With a clear vision for improving education and a passion for learning, the successful candidate will be committed to improving the life chances of the young people.  They will play a key role in developing and driving the academic provision and shaping learning  within the school.

In this strategic role, you’ll help shape an ambitious, research‑informed curriculum, lead high‑quality CPD, strengthen assessment and reporting systems, and support staff to deliver outstanding learning experiences for every student. You’ll play a key part in whole‑school improvement, modelling our values, driving innovation, and contributing to a positive, collaborative culture. You will be an inspirational leader who will provide professional leadership and support with a clear focus on ensuring high quality education for all pupils and students, the candidate will secure success through developing excellent standards of learning, behaviour and achievement.

  • Deep understanding of curriculum design, pedagogy and assessment
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, coach and develop others
