About this Role

Are you a passionate and experienced leader with a commitment to high standards, student success, and community engagement? Plantsbrook School is looking for a dynamic and inspiring Assistant Headteacher to lead on behaviour, standards, and community. 

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact on the lives of our students, shaping the school’s approach to behaviour, rewards, inclusion, and transition. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Behaviour & Standards – Lead the strategic development of the school’s behaviour strategy, ensuring high expectations are maintained. 

  • Celebrating Success – Develop initiatives that recognise and reward student achievement. 

  • Pastoral Leadership – Line manage and strategically develop the pastoral team, ensuring high levels of care and support. 

  • Student Welfare & Inclusion – Oversee behaviour interventions, liaise with parents and external agencies, and champion inclusivity. 

  • Transition – Lead the strategic oversight of transition from primary to secondary, ensuring students are well-supported. 

  • Alternative Provision – Monitor and oversee students on alternative and additional provision, ensuring high-quality education and well-being. 

What We’re Looking For 

We are seeking a motivated and experienced leader who: 

  • Is an outstanding teacher and role model. 

  • Has strong leadership skills, with experience as a Head of Department or Head of Year. 

  • Is passionate about student behaviour, pastoral care, and academic success. 

  • Can motivate and inspire both staff and students. 

  • Has experience in developing and implementing school improvement strategies. 

  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
