About this Role

Teacher of Science (with possible TLR)

Salary: MPS/UPS 

Hours: Core school hours 

We are looking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic Teacher of Science for September 2025, who can demonstrate excellent subject knowledge, with a genuine enthusiasm to inspire a love of learning in our students.  The successful candidate, ideally with a subject specialism in Physics, will join a stable, well-resourced, and very successful Science department offering a broad range of courses at both pre and post 16.  The post would suit a newly qualified teacher or an experienced practitioner who is confident to teach up to Key Stage 5.  The position has a potential TLR, for a suitably experienced candidate.  Please indicate within your application whether you wish to be considered for this responsibility.

    • Confidently share new ideas, during staff meetings. 
    • Set goals that stretch and challenge pupils of all backgrounds, abilities, and dispositions. 
    • Be aware of pupils’ capabilities and their prior knowledge, and plan teaching to build on these. 
    • Encourage pupils to take a responsible and conscientious attitude to their own work and study. 

The ideal candidate 

    • Has Qualified Teacher Status and a good educational background including a good Honours Degree or equivalent. 
    • Can evidence both curricular and pastoral responsibilities. 
    • Understands and is committed to teaching standards. 
    • Has high personal standards in terms of attendance, punctuality and organising workload. 
    • Is an excellent communicator with great interpersonal skills. 
    • Has a positive, enthusiastic, and professional approach towards work. 
    • Has a willingness to undergo further training and development.
