We’re calling out to Contracts Officers, Business Managers, Office Managers, and Bursars who are looking for a new challenge within a large, dynamic Trust, one where your experience in estates, compliance, or facilities management will make a real difference.
This is a fantastic opportunity to take a lead role in monitoring our PFI contractor’s performance at Weston Favell Academy. You will ensure the site is safe, compliant, and well managed, delivering value for money and maintaining high standards across cleaning, security, maintenance, and health & safety. You’ll also provide support to other GAT sites when required, working closely with the Regional Premises Manager and the wider Estates Team.
Duties will include (but not limited to):
Monitoring the day-to-day performance of PFI contractors (Amey Plc) to ensure contractual standards are met and value for money is achieved.
Monitoring statutory compliance, maintenance, and facilities management tasks carried out by the PFI service provider.
Managing and supervising Academy contractors on site, ensuring all work is carried out safely and to Trust standards.
Supporting and advising the Regional Premises Manager on budgets, maintenance planning, and project delivery.
Managing minor refurbishment and improvement projects, ensuring minimal disruption to staff and students.
Investigating and resolving issues between the Academy and service providers such as Amey Plc, escalating as appropriate.
Maintaining accurate records and reports relating to site safety, maintenance, and performance.
Acting as a designated key holder and providing emergency access to the site when required, including unlocking other local academies on an ad-hoc basis to provide cover during periods of annual leave.
Additional Opportunity:
There is an optional opportunity for the successful candidate to manage academy lettings between 4:00pm – 6:00pm, Monday to Friday, for additional pay if desired.
About you:
You’ll have previous experience in premises or facilities management, ideally within a school or public building setting. You’ll understand compliance, have strong communication skills, and be confident managing contractors and projects. Excellent IT literacy and attention to detail are essential.
A flexible approach to working hours is required, along with a proactive attitude and a commitment to maintaining safe, efficient, and high-quality environments for our staff and students.
In return we have multiple benefits for our talented and highly valued people:
