About this Role

An exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Teacher of Spanish to join our successful MFL Faculty.  You will be a passionate advocate for language learning and have the enthusiasm and skills to engage students across the age and ability range.

Modern Foreign Languages, (German, Spanish and French),  are a key component of our curriculum.  At Key Stage 3 students learn two languages, with all students continuing with at least one language to GCSE.  MFL is a popular A Level choice with 6 A Level language classes next academic year. Our teachers and students are supported by three language assistants.

All our MFL teachers teach at least two languages. The ideal candidate for this role will be able to offer Spanish as their primary language, but one other language, preferably French, at KS3.  For suitably qualified or experienced candidates, there may be the opportunity to teach A Level Spanish.

We welcome applications from experienced and Early Career Teachers (ECTs). The role is offered as full-time but applications from those interested in a part-time position will be considered.

Parmiter’s coordinates CPD for the Watford Partnership for Teacher Training and offers a robust induction programme. We can offer the successful candidate:

  • July 1st start date for ECTs with a comprehensive programme to support the Early Career Framework and bespoke CPD to suit your career goals.

  • Focus on Staff Well-being with an online GP service, Employee Assistance Programme & complimentary use of the on-site Fitness Suite.

  • A high quality and well-resourced teaching environment with highly talented and engaged students.

  • An admission policy prioritising the children of staff (a qualifying period may apply).

  • Lovely school grounds in leafy surrounds with ample parking.

Parmiter’s is an exceptional school and all colleagues share a passion for educational excellence in every area. Applicants are encouraged to visit the school website and social media accounts for more information. Candidates are welcome to contact admin@parmiters.herts.sch.uk to arrange a visit to the school or to arrange a discussion about the department and the role before application.

Parmiter’s School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expects all members of staff to share this commitment. Applicants must declare any criminal convictions as the post is exempt  under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Appointments will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via the Disclosure and Barring Service and references from previous employers. We are required to conduct online searches for shortlisted candidates  in accordance with the Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance in order to identify any incidents or concerns which are publicly available online. We are an Equal Opportunities employer.
