About this Role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Head of Drama to deliver high-quality lessons that support students in achieving outstanding progress. The successful candidate will set clear learning targets, assess student progress with regular feedback, and ensure students are well-prepared for examinations.  With a genuine passion for Drama, you’ll help our students grow academically, socially, and emotionally, while staying up-to-date with current educational thinking. They will contribute to schemes of work, maintain a stimulating learning environment, and engage with parents and the wider school community. The role also involves taking responsibility for professional development and actively participating in school duties and performance management activities.

The Drama department is housed in 2 drama studios with students being taught in tutor groups in Key Stage 3 for one lesson per week. Drama is a popular option choice at KS4 and at KS5. KS4 have 5 lessons a fortnight and study the OCR GCSE Drama specification. Students at KS5 study Edexcel A’ Level Drama and Theatre, having 9 lessons per fortnight. All lessons are taught by specialist teachers. Currently, there is a thriving extra-curricular provision for Drama including the main school musical, the KS3 drama club and whole school productions both in the autumn and summer term.
