The Howard of Effingham School really is a wonderful place to work. If you are just starting out as a teacher, you will be welcomed, supported and have the opportunity to develop and grow professionally in a lively, fast paced and motivating environment. If you are thinking of joining us as a leader, you will have genuine accountability, the opportunity to contribute strategically to our development and a range of support and CPD. Our students are our inspiration. We have high expectations for them. They enjoy learning, are excited by challenge and are genuinely great to spend time with.
We expect a lot from all our staff because we are passionate about delivering our aim of ‘bringing out the best’ in every one of our students. We do, though, take the well-being of our staff very seriously and a healthy work-life balance is promoted for all. We are proud to be the lead school in our MAT, The Howard Partnership Trust. We work collaboratively with all our partner schools, both primary and secondary and we use this work to improve our offer to students.
As well as teaching your specialist subject, we encourage our staff to become involved in the wider life of the school, participating in sports, arts and other activities such as The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme and trips abroad. These things enrich the lives of our students and promote productive and positive relationships throughout the school. We know how important these are to our success.
