About this Role

37 hours per week, 8.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.15am to 3.45pm Friday, term time only (39 Weeks). Grade D – Step 1 FTE £25,628, Actual Annual Salary £21,981.00.

We are part of the Wildern Academy Trust which comprises Wildern Secondary School, Deer Park Secondary School and Boorley Park Primary School. Our staff form a collective team that makes a difference to the lives of our students.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative and approachable R&R Room Manager to join a very successful behavioural team. In this role you will coordinate and support school strategies for vulnerable children.  You will also work with the Pastoral Team & Deputy Headteachers to address the needs of children who need support to overcome barriers to learning both inside and outside school in order to achieve their full potential.

Our R&R Room Manager will champion a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students in our secondary school. This leadership role is focused on implementing a transformative approach to behaviour management, emphasising reflective and restorative practices.

  • Develop and lead the focus on reflective and restorative practices, and positive reinforcement
  • Train and coach staff in utilising restorative practices to address student behaviour concerns
  • Facilitate restorative conversations to address conflict and build positive relationships between students and staff
  • Oversee the identification and implementation of behaviour support plans for students with additional needs and challenges
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to develop inclusive teaching strategies that cater to diverse learning styles
  • Analyse data and track the effectiveness of the R and R Room
  • Monitor and report on student behaviour trends and outcomes to DoPAs
  • Build strong relationships with students, parents, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to supporting student well-being and behaviour
  • Continue to develop the R and R Room to include further support strategies including working with key groups of students
  • Mentoring key students
  • Oversee the whole school mobile phone policy and procedures working with students, staff and parents
  • Welcome students at the gates daily building positive relationships with our Wildern families

You will have very good interpersonal skills and be confident in dealing with students, staff and parents on a day to day basis.

Desirable skills:

  • Experience working in secondary education, ideally within an inclusion or pastoral role
  • A good understanding of restorative practice and its application in a school setting
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong leadership and team-building abilities with a focus on collaboration and professional development
  • Data analysis and interpretation skills
  • Ability to build trust and rapport with students, parents, and staff
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
