Learning Support Assistants
AGS NJC Band D scp 7-11 £12.59 to £13.47 per hour plus Local Government Pension Scheme
One permanent role 32.5 hours per week, Mon to Fri 8:40am to 3:40pm: Actual Pay £17,884.06
190 days per academic year i.e.: AGS term time + some inset days to total 190 days.
One temporary role (part time hours - some flexibility) - by mutual agreement
We are looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to join our dedicated and enthusiastic team. Responsibilities include providing 1:1 SEN support, working in partnership with subject teachers and supervising small group interventions. Learning Support Assistants are vital in supporting students to feel confident in their abilities. And motivating them to achieve their potential.
The successful candidate will be both committed and enthusiastic with excellent communication skills. Previous experience of supporting students with SEND in a school setting would be advantageous. We are happy to accept applications seeking full or part time hours.
It is expected that the successful applicant will be able to fulfil the following criteria:
Qualifications :
GCSE English and Maths at grades A-C (or equivalent)
Experience:
Experience of working with students in a school setting
Experience of working with SEND students is an advantage
Experience of working within SEND team is not essential as training will be provided in school and externally, if necessary
Relationships:
A commitment to students as individuals
A sensitive attitude to students of all abilities and ages and the ability to support teachers to meet the needs of those with Special Educational needs
Supporting students to ensure they feel confident in their abilities
A recognition of the importance of partnership with parents
A supportive and cooperative approach to colleagues

We are a small team, currently consisting of the SENCo, Assistant SENCo Learning Support Coordinator and Learning Support Assistants.
