About this Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an exceptional Senior Leader to join Kings Norton Girls’ School and Sixth Form (KNGS). KNGS is an OFSTED outstanding school and is part of the West Midlands Multi Academy Trust, has a comprehensive intake and a co-educational sixth form.  We are proud of our vibrant, socially and culturally diverse school, which lies in the heart of our community, and is highly regarded in our local area and beyond. We achieve excellent academic and pastoral outcomes for students within a culture of care, concern and well-being for both students and staff. 

The post is available from September 2026 on a permanent, full time basis.  You will be joining KNGS at an exciting point in its journey.  KNGS became a founding member of the West Midlands Academy Trust (WMAT) in January 2025.  The formation of WMAT has been a very positive move for the continued development of the school.  The post has arisen due to the internal promotion of the current postholder.

We are seeking an exceptional Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion to join our Senior Leadership Team. This is a pivotal role for an ambitious, values-driven leader who is passionate about removing barriers to learning and securing outstanding outcomes for all students, particularly those who are disadvantaged, vulnerable, or have additional needs.

This role includes responsibility as the named SENDCo, with strategic oversight of SEND, disadvantage, and inclusion across the school. The successful candidate will play a central role in shaping whole-school practice, ensuring that inclusion is not an add‑on but fully embedded in our curriculum, culture, and systems. The successful candidate will not necessarily hold the NASENCO qualification but must have the willingness to complete this in post.

As Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion, you will:

  • Provide strategic leadership for inclusion, SEND, and disadvantage at senior level
  • Lead and develop high-quality, compliant, and impactful SEND provision
  • Drive improvements in progress, attainment, attendance, and behaviour for key groups
  • Champion adaptive teaching and an ambitious curriculum for all learners
  • Use data intelligently to inform decision-making and evaluate impact
  • Lead and develop staff, including Learning Support Assistants
  • Work closely with parents, external agencies, governors, and trust colleagues
  • Contribute fully to whole-school leadership, improvement planning, and safeguarding
