At KNGS our Renewal Room is a designated pastoral space for KS3 and KS4 students which provides a structured and closely supervised environment for students who have been assigned internal isolation as a behavioural sanction. While it functions as a consequence for a significant or repeated behaviour concerns, the Renewal Room is also intended to support students’ personal development and help them re-engage positively with school life.
The Renewal Room Coordinator will play a central role in the day‑to‑day running of our Renewal Room. Working under the direction of the Lead for Student Support and Pastoral Administration, the postholder will play a central role in the day-to-day running of the Renewal Room, as they will fully manage its effective operation by providing direct support to students and work proactively with staff, parents and careers to promote positive behaviour and readiness to learn. This includes ensuring consistent application of the Behaviour for Learning Policy and maintaining a calm, structured and supportive environment that encourages engagement. The successful candidate will work closely within a responsive team, meeting the daily needs of students and ensuring they make the most of learning and reflection opportunities through effective behaviour management and high‑quality, curriculum‑linked work.
This role is therefore integral to the smooth operation of our pastoral systems and contributes significantly to our culture of safeguarding, wellbeing and success. The successful candidate will have experience of working with children and young people, preferably in a school setting and will find themselves working in a friendly, supportive and ambitious school, where we always strive to provide our students with an amazing learning experience.
