About this Role

An opportunity has arisen for an exceptional Teacher to join Kings Norton Girls’ School as a Head of Year.  KNGS is an OFSTED outstanding school and is a founding member of West Midlands Multi Academy Trust (WMAT). The school has a comprehensive intake and a co-educational sixth form.  We are proud of our vibrant, socially and culturally diverse school, which lies in the heart of our community, and is highly regarded in our local area and beyond. We achieve excellent academic and pastoral outcomes for students within a culture of care, concern and well-being for both students and staff. 

The role is available immediately, or for a September start on a permanent, full time basis, all subject specialisms will be considered. The role is not suitable for ECT applications. 
 

This is a fantastic opportunity for an exceptional individual to join the team at Kings Norton Girls’ School and Sixth Form in order to open a world of opportunities for our students

The role of Head of Year is key to ensuring that exceptional pastoral support is available to our students. The successful applicant will lead the development of students within their allocated year group and lead and manage a year team of form tutors. They will ensure high quality tutoring and work with staff, students, parents and carers to support learning, behaviour for learning, attendance and personal and social growth for students within the year group. 

This is a teaching post (50% timetable) therefore, we are looking for an excellent practitioner to join any of our subject teams alongside being an individual that is committed to working with young people to ensure they flourish.  You will recognise the importance of and will strive to maintain a cohesive school community through building positive relationships with our students and existing staff.  Excellent communication skills are key, alongside strong organisational skills and the ability to priorities and problem solve.
