About this Role

Hours: Part-time - 20 hours per week

Basis: Term time 38 weeks + one additional week (inc inset)

Status: Fixed Term

Salary: Grade 3 - £24,796 - £25,185 FTE (Actual Salary £11,464 - £11,644)

We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Assistant Cook to join our friendly team at Queen Katherine School. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in providing nutritious, balanced meals to students and staff in a safe and welcoming environment.

Main Responsibilities:

Support the preparation, cooking, and serving of meals
Assist in delivering a high-quality catering service for students and staff
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety in the kitchen
Help with stock control and organisation of supplies
Work collaboratively as part of a busy catering team
Ensure kitchen equipment is used safely and effectively

What we’re looking for:

Experience in catering or food preparation
Knowledge of food hygiene and safety
Positive, team-focused approach
A Basic Food Hygiene certificate (or equivalent experience) is essential.
