The Queen Katherine School (QKS) is an 11-18 academy with over 900 students on roll. We have a constant focus on improving the quality of the education we deliver and time is given each week to developing learning and teaching across the school. Great emphasis is also placed on the community element of school life and this can be seen throughout the school in our ‘Proud to Belong’ ethos. 

The Queen Katherine School enjoys a great location in Kendal, Cumbria. Kendal is known as the gateway to the Lake District, six miles from junction 36 of the M6 motorway and only a few miles from the sea. Kendal is especially well placed to cater for walking, mountain biking, canoeing, climbing and a host of other outdoor pursuits. The scenic surroundings, low crime rate and vibrant community activities add to Kendal’s appeal.
