About this Role

The Queen Katherine School is part of the Cumbria Education Trust. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and self-motivated Science Technician to assist our busy Science Department with the preparation of practical support to the students and Science teaching staff. The successful person will be responsible for ensuring that equipment is maintained and adequate levels of materials and equipment are available for use. 

Experience of working in a laboratory setting and/or educational setting would be an advantage, as well as the confidence to work independently, as well as within a team.

What we are looking for:

  • A good standard of education, GCSE Science or equivalent.
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Experience of working in a team and on your own initiative.
  • Awareness of Health and Safety in relation to Science.
  • Ability to relate well to children and adults.
  • Able to work constructively as part of a team and good communication skills.
  • Good organisational sills and personal time management.
  • Care and attention to detail with a conscientious and methodical approach to work.
  • Ability to work under pressure, priories tasks and work to deadlines.
