About this Role

Hours: 20 hours per week

We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our friendly team at Queen Katherine School. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in providing nutritious, balanced meals to students and staff in a safe and welcoming environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a team to prepare and serve meals in line with food hygiene and health & safety regulations.
  • Prepare dining areas for service, including setting up and clearing furniture and equipment.
  • Assist with food preparation, portion control, and labelling of pre-packaged items.
  • Operate tills and handle transactions as required.
  • Wash and clean catering equipment, crockery, and utensils using both manual and automated methods.
  • Maintain cleanliness of all catering areas to agreed standards.
  • Monitor stock levels, assist with deliveries, and ensure proper stock rotation.
  • Support the school’s ethos and comply with safeguarding, health & safety, and data protection policies.
  • Participate in training and development as required.
