About this Role

Oakgrove School is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Head of Year (Non teaching) to support the pastoral care and development of our students. Working closely with the Head of Year, you will play a key role in ensuring a positive, supportive and high-achieving environment for a designated year group of 300 students at our secondary school site.

In this varied and rewarding role, you will:

  • Provide day-to-day support and guidance to students
  • Promote excellent behaviour, attendance and wellbeing
  • Act as a visible and approachable presence around the school
  • Assist with monitoring student progress and responding to pastoral needs
  • Communicate effectively with staff, parents and external agencies
  • Help celebrate student achievements and successes
  • Provide administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the year group
