About this Role

Oakgrove School is looking for a reliable and organised Pastoral Administrator to support our pastoral team. In this role, you will manage student records, support behaviour and attendance systems, and coordinate student detentions. You will also act as a key point of contact for parents, staff, and external stakeholders, handling enquiries while building and maintaining positive relationships.

This role is offered on a part time basis of 3 days per week (22.5 hours per week). Ideally this would be Wednesdays to Fridays.

Please see the attached Job description and Person specification for more details.

If you require more information about the role or Oakgrove School, please contact hr@oakgrove.school

Kingsbridge Educational Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check is required for this post prior to commencement.

Oakgrove School would like all candidates to answer specific questions for the personal statement section. For reference, here is a preview of the questions/headings:

  1. Please describe your experience in an administrative role, including how you manage competing priorities and ensure accuracy in your work.
  2. Provide an example of how you have worked both independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines or deliver a service in a busy environment.
  3. Give an example of a time when you handled sensitive or confidential information. How did you ensure confidentiality and professionalism?
  4. Describe your experience of communicating with parents/carers, colleagues, and/or external agencies. How do you ensure clear and effective communication in challenging situations?
  5. What experience do you have of supporting behaviour, attendance, or pastoral processes (e.g. detentions, student monitoring, or reporting systems)? If none, how would you approach learning these systems quickly?
  6. Describe a situation where you identified or responded to a safeguarding concern. How did you handle it, and what actions did you take?
