Role: Teacher of Design Technology 

Salary: M1-UPS3

TLR: A TLR 3 is available for a suitably experienced candidate to lead aspects of curriculum development

Start Date: Summer Term 2026 

Contract: Full time/ Permanent

As a Teacher of Design Technology, you will be able to:


Teach Design Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4 

Deliver engaging, practical lessons in resistant materials (wood, metal, plastics, CAD/CAM)

Promote creativity, technical accuracy and safe workshop practice

Support students to develop real-world making skills and design thinking

Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities such as clubs, competitions or STEM projects

 

Design Technology is a popular subject with students currently able to study GCSE Design Technology or a vocational qualification in Engineering. You will be a key player within our Technology team, expertly planning for the needs of every student and assessing accurately to ensure that every student is able to thrive. A willingness to teach Food Technology, if required, is also needed. 

We have exceptionally high expectations for student behaviour and support our teachers to be confident to deliver lessons where students continue to learn, contribute positively and make progress in their learning.
