Our Lady and All Saints Catholic Multi Academy Company (“the MAC”) was formed in April 2021 and currently comprises of 12 Catholic Primary Schools and 2 Catholic Secondary Schools across the Birmingham, Solihull, and Warwickshire areas.
John Henry Newman Catholic College is an oversubscribed and high performing 11-19 College in the heart of Chelmsley Wood, Solihull. We have invested heavily in technology and teachers have access to chrome books to enhance their teaching and learning.
Our thriving Social Science department is made up of an array of different qualifications across both KS4 and KS5. We successfully offer Health and Social Care and Sociology at both GCSE and A Level as well as Psychology (A level and BTEC Applied), Criminology and Law. Our Social Science student enrollment numbers are high with the subjects being a top choice for many of our learners. We have a large number of students going on to further study a Social Science related course after GCSE, and a high number who go on to university to study a related course after being successful in our 6th form. The successful candidate will need to be able to teach more than one of the social sciences ideally with a knowledge of Psychology. The successful candidate will support students to set the highest expectations and to make outstanding progress. This post offers the prospect to make a significant impact and help shape and develop the learning and teaching for the future. He/she will have the motivation and energy to inspire young people and a determination to never settle for second best. The successful candidate will be an effective classroom practitioner, with excellent interpersonal skills, who will support and contribute to a team ethos capable of driving improvements across the department. They should be adaptable and able to teach across both KS4 and KS5. In return they will have the opportunity to be part of a vibrant team teaching in a modern and stimulating learning environment.
The successful candidate will play a full part in the life of the school community, will be a form tutor and will contribute to maintaining the strong Catholic character of the school and in fostering the development of students and staff.
