We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Teacher of Science who can inspire curiosity, foster critical thinking, and deliver high‑quality lessons across the science curriculum. You will engage students through practical investigation, clear explanations, and a passion for scientific discovery, helping every learner develop confidence, ambition, and a deep understanding of the world around them. Key responsibilities: 

  • Plan and deliver engaging, high‑quality science lessons that meet the requirements of the National Curriculum and support students of all abilities.
  • Assess, record, and report on student progress, using data to inform teaching and provide targeted support where needed.
  • Create a safe and well‑organised practical learning environment, ensuring all experiments and activities follow health and safety guidelines.
  • Contribute to curriculum development within the science department, helping to refine schemes of work, resources, and assessment materials.
  • Support the wider life of the school, including attending meetings, participating in professional development, and promoting science through clubs, trips, or enrichment activities.

Pay range: 

MPS/UPS £32,916 - £51,048

Qualifications and Skills: 

  •  A recognised teaching qualification, such as QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or completion of a PGCE/School Direct/Teach First programme.
  • A degree in a science-related subject (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related discipline).
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to teach science confidently across Key Stages, with specialism in at least one science.
  • Excellent communication, classroom management, and organisational skills, enabling effective lesson delivery, positive behaviour management, and strong student engagement.
