Senior Student Support Officer

Location: Kettering Science Academy.

Hours: 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

Salary: FTE £27,200 - £29,200 (Actual £23,365 - £25,083)

We are looking to appoint a Senior Student Support Officer to join our passionate and hard-working pastoral team at Kettering Science Academy.  You will be responsible for supporting one of our Heads of Year in leading on all pastoral support for a designated year group.  This will involve supporting students with specific intervention needs, monitoring and improving attendance, and supporting a positive climate for learning within the year group.  You will be the first port of call for students and their parents, and will help support families through early intervention. 

This role provides the chance to make a significant contribution to our ambitious plan to deliver an outward looking centre of excellence which will support and contribute to the inclusion agenda, transforming the educational and life-long opportunities of all our children.  We will support and provide training for our Senior Student Support Officer to specialise in a particular intervention (e.g. lego therapy, anger management, restorative practice) and we will tailor this dependent upon the successful candidate’s experience and interest.
