Teacher of Science
Are you passionate about helping children achieve their maximum potential, regardless of their starting point? If so, we invite you to join our vibrant team at Tudor Grange Academy Worcester where children flourish both academically, creatively and socially.
In October 2024, Ofsted commended the Academy:
"The school aspires to offer a transformative experience for its pupils, and for many, it achieves this goal. Pupils feel genuinely care for in the friendly, inclusive school. They know that trusted adults keep them safe and will act swiftly to help them if they have any worries. Pupils are encouraged to take full advantage of the distinctive opportunities available to nurture their talents and expand their horizons. As one pupil explained: "There is something for everyone here".
We relentlessly pursue our mission to establish ourselves as a truly great school at the heart of the community we serve. The Academy is a diverse, inclusive school for girls and boys from Year 7 to Sixth Form, where high expectations are set for everyone in our community. Our TUDOR values—Tolerance, Unity, Democracy, Opportunity, and Respect—are the golden strands that run through every aspect of our school.
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, creative and dedicated Teacher of Science (ideally a Physics specialist) to join our popular and oversubscribed Academy. This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic and inspirational teacher who is passionate about teaching the subject of Science. Both experienced and Newly Qualified Teachers are encouraged to apply.
Department
information
Science teachers
at the Academy plan and teach a curriculum which is inspiring and challenging
and includes creative ideas with lively enriching activities. We have a team
that is supportive, proactive and dedicated to ensuring that every child at
TGAW is able to flourish and grow.
Students have three science teachers, and are taught the
sciences by subject specialists at Key stage 4 and 5. Our mastery ethos with
regards to our content delivery, our sequencing of curriculum and marking
policy have all been praised for being forward thinking and considerate of
staff workload and well-being.
This department is a very hard-working department,
completely committed to excellence. This is a school where we are raising the
profile of science in line with Progress 8 and students are enthusiastic about
the lessons and practical activities we deliver. We offer STEM as an
extracurricular activity and are always looking for ways that this can be
developed to be as inclusive for as many of our students as possible. We host
sixth form students in the prep room to add to their enrichment programme, and
to deepen their skills to ensure that they can be successful during their A
Level studies.
We are proud of
the fantastic progress since the Academy opened and are proud of the friendly
and work focused relationship that the Science staff engender with the
students. We work collaboratively with all the schools within the Trust to
share expertise and benefit from more robust and reliable assessment data.
