About this Role

Pastoral Support Assistants fulfil a vital role in our school support system.  Working alongside an Achievement Director and Assistant Achievement Director, they provide administrative support for a year group of students.  More significantly, they support students with their wellbeing, behaviour, attendance and attitudes.  Pastoral Support Assistants are often the 'emotionally available adult' in so many of our student's lives and are often the first port of call for families.

This is a permanent position working 37 hours per week, 40 weeks per year and the salary will be pro-rata'd to reflect this working pattern.

The Aylesbury Vale Academy is a good school with a strong sense of purpose and achievement based upon respect, aspiration and resilience.  Aylesbury Vale Academy provides a safe stimulating learning environment for children from 2 to 18 years old.  At Aylesbury Vale Academy, we aim to provide an inclusive, engaging and challenging experience, leading to an education of the highest quality.

If you are adaptive and able to be flexible in your approaches, have good listening and communications skills, a positive attitude towards young people and good organisational skills, then this may be the position for you.

Previous experience would be an advantage, but it is not essential as appropriate training would be offered to the right candidate.

Candidates must have a GCSE in English and Maths or an equivalent qualification and be proficient in Microsoft packages.  A knowledge of SIMS would be beneficial, but not essential as training will be provided.

Prospective candidates are encouraged to submit their applications as soon as possible as the school reserves the right to close the advert should we feel able to appoint an appropriate candidate.

Our commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our children will be reflected throughout the recruitment process and the successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and an online screening check.
