About this Role

We are seeking a passionate, compassionate, and dedicated  qualified Maths teacher who is committed to supporting students in their Maths learning journey while recognising the importance of trauma-informed practices. You will be part of a collaborative team of educators who work together to create an environment where every student feels valued, respected, and capable of reaching their full potential.

Teaching is 1:1 or small group (maximum of 4 students) and classrooms are based across several sites ranging from Aylesbury to Wellingborough. We aim to base staff at sites within reasonable travel distance of their home address, however travel will be required, and a fuel allowance is paid for travel between sites.  

Our students are mostly KS3 and KS4 and we offer a range of qualifications in Maths:  AQA Entry Level, Functional Skills and GCSE qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated Maths lessons,
  • Organise and deliver Numeracy interventions  that meet the needs of students with diverse learning profiles, including those impacted by trauma.
  • Foster a positive classroom environment where students feel safe, valued, and respected.
  • Implement trauma-informed practices that support students' emotional and social development.
  • Work collaboratively within our team, the wider teams and other professionals.
  • Monitor student progress, adapt teaching strategies where necessary and provide regular feedback in a way that is encouraging and promotes growth.
  • Establish clear expectations and routines that provide structure and stability for students.
  • Actively participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events.
  • Provide pastoral support and guidance, helping students manage their emotions and build resilience.
  • Engage with caregivers to build strong, supportive relationships that help students succeed.
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding and child protection.
