About this Role

The successful candidate will have experience teaching at all Key Stages, maintain high professional and academic standards, remain up to date in terms off subject knowledge and pedagogical techniques to ensure that the faculty functions effectively as a team. The ability to teach Music would be desirable, though not essential.

You will help shape a dynamic curriculum that inspires every student to express themselves and excel and provide an environment for drama to thrive, including:

  • State of the art theatres – a spacious, fully equipped purpose-built studio theatre, plus two additional drama spaces, including a newly built black box studio
  • Talented in-house team to create production props and scenery
  • Successful performance history – a show every year to include all-year groups. Most recently, a production of Matilda
  • Power of Theatre – easy access to West End and home county theatres
  • Strong links with other local schools, associations and theatre clubs

Beyond the department, here is a flavour of what life is like at The Langley Academy:

  • Pupils demonstrate positive attitudes to learning in lessons and achieve well in many subjects. Students report that it is easy to be yourself within this inclusive culture with high levels of respect for diversity.Ofsted, 2023
  • Strong, supportive leadership team – mentoring and 1-1 coaching from leaders across the Trust
  • Part of the Arbib Education Trust - shortlisted for Small MAT of the Year 2026 (MAT Excellence Awards) and providing access to unique resources and pioneering museum learning, including on-site museum exhibitions

What we offer:
