"Our students will tell you that The Langley Academy is a safe, exciting, and supportive place to learn and grow. I am very proud to be Headteacher of such warm and cohesive staff that supports and promotes the achievement and wellbeing of all who attend.” Alison Lusuardi
The Langley Academy is a popular, oversubscribed, and forward-thinking school offering a broad and rich curriculum. Providing the backdrop to our success are the state-of-the-art facilities including our museum learning school, fully equipped theatre, extensive sports facilities, and our science pods designed to deliver outstanding practical science.
The Langley Academy Vision
To provide an exceptional education for every child through high aspirations and the principles of quality learning encouraging curiosity, exploration, and discovery, so that students come to school to learn and achieve, empowered to live full and enriched lives, and contribute positively to family life, a community, and the wider world.
Here at The Langley Academy there is no ceiling to achievement. Anything is possible!
Our Guiding Principles
At The Langley Academy we:
Curriculum
The Academy encourages independence and a love of learning. Our unique Museum Learning approach underpins a very wide range of activities, trips, and visitors, bringing our broad and ambitious curriculum to life. Through partnerships with local and international museums, students engage in projects like Science Museum co-curation and medical programmes encouraging critical thinking and creativity.
Collaborations with organisations like the Thames Valley Learning Partnership and National Careers Service Adviza provide diverse opportunities, from competitions to sports, music, and career-focused initiatives. Exceptional facilities, subsidised music lessons, and support programs like the Nurture Group and Hearing Resource Base ensure all students thrive, inspiring academic success and personal growth.
Ofsted
“Pupils report that it is easy to be yourself within this inclusive culture with high levels of respect for diversity” The Langley Academy is celebrated for its inclusive and nurturing community, where mutual respect, tolerance, and strong relationships are key to its ethos. Ofsted commends the positive attitudes of students, who thrive academically and show respect for diversity. Parents value the supportive environment and guidance their children receive, with staff praised for their dedication and the professional development opportunities provided. Leadership is recognised for fostering a safe and welcoming atmosphere while effectively supporting staff and managing workloads, ensuring a well-rounded and enriching experience for all.
The Arbib Education Trust
The Langley Academy is part of The Arbib Education Trust which encompasses three schools: The Langley Academy, The Langley Academy Primary and The Langley Heritage Primary.
We aim to provide an exceptional education through collaboration, high expectations and learning which prompts curiosity, exploration, and discovery. We want our work in “the Arbib way” to be characterised by a determination to discover ways of succeeding. We work as a single community of schools sharing many ideas and investing in the future of every child and student in partnership with their families.
The
health and wellbeing of our staff is of utmost importance to us. We recognise
that all of our colleagues have a life outside our school community. To support
this, as part of our wider wellness programme we offer a wide range of
benefits. Here are a few of the many things we offer:
Flexible
working – a bespoke ‘Extra Flex’ scheme offers
flexibility on when and where you work, as well as part time and job share
options.
Trustee day – a term time day to attend events you
wouldn’t ordinarily be able to attend. For example, one of our teachers who is
fanatical about tennis went to Wimbledon and others have had the opportunity to
celebrate their birthdays at Glastonbury, Henley Regatta and Alton Towers.
Short Fridays - to allow you to start your weekend
early.
Private Healthcare Scheme, cycle to work scheme, free use of The
Langley Academy gym and hire of the sports hall at a discounted rate to help
support a healthy lifestyle.
The benefits don’t end there though. Click here: www.arbibeducationtrust.org/benefits to see the full range of amazing benefits we offer.
