George Salter Academy are seeking to appoint a motivated and organised STEAM Technician to support our Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) departments. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic secondary school environment, helping to deliver engaging and practical learning experiences for students ages 11-18. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing equipment, maintaining resources and supporting staff and students during practical lessons and projects. The role is 37 hours per week, term time only plus 1 additional week.

Key responsibilities:

  • Prepare and set up equipment, materials and resources for STEAM lessons and practical activities
  • Provide technical support to teaching staff during lessons, demonstrations and projects
  • Ensure equipment is maintained, cleaned and stored safely
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are followed in all practical activities

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is organised, practical and able to manage multiple tasks
  • Hass good communication and teamwork skills
  • Is confident working with equipment and tools
  • Understands health and safety in practical environments
  • Previous experience of working in an educational setting is desirable but not essential
