About George Salter Academy

George Salter Academy is a friendly, happy and vibrant 11-18 academy, serving a multi-cultural community. Our aim is for all students to develop in knowledge, confidence and ability in a caring and inclusive learning environment. We work hard to recognise the individual needs of pupils so that they can reach their potential and succeed to the highest of their ability, that they become engaged in an interesting and varied learning curriculum, preparing them for the challenges and opportunities of our modern and ever changing society.

At George Salter Academy, we believe that education is about more than just academics; it’s about nurturing the whole individual. Our core values of Ambition, Belief, and Courage are the foundation of everything we do. We are ambitious for every child, ensuring they have the confidence to believe in their potential and the courage to take bold steps towards their future. Our mission is simple yet powerful: to defy disadvantage and provide equal opportunities for all students to realize their personal goals and achieve outstanding outcomes.

All members of our staff play a vital role in this mission. We are a close-knit team that supports one another like family, working collaboratively to create a learning environment that is both challenging and nurturing. We recognize the importance of consistency, routine, and high expectations, and we strive to instill these qualities in our students through positive, “can do” attitudes.

Situated in the heart of Sandwell, West Midlands, we are a vibrant and inclusive secondary school and sixth form serving around 1,220 students aged 11-19. Our Academy is more than just a place of learning; it is a cornerstone of the local community. We actively engage with parents, businesses, and local organisations to create a cohesive and supportive network that benefits everyone. Our facilities are regularly used by the community, reflecting our commitment to serving the wider area and enriching the lives of those we touch.
