Help shape the future of West Link

West Link is an exciting provision, providing a high-quality, inclusive learning environment for secondary-aged pupils who are at risk of permanent exclusion or who have been permanently excluded from mainstream schools.

We are looking for an experienced, compassionate and highly organised professional to join our team as an Inclusion & Casework Coordinator.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong background in inclusion, pastoral care, attendance, safeguarding or behaviour support who is passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable young people.

About the Role

Working closely with the West Link Provision Manager, you will coordinate the day-to-day pastoral and inclusion support for pupils attending West Link.

You will manage a caseload of pupils, coordinate routine referrals, admissions, induction and review meetings, support attendance processes and work collaboratively with schools, families and external agencies to ensure pupils receive timely and effective support throughout their placement.

You will contribute to safeguarding practice, support the implementation of SEND strategies and the graduated response, and help pupils successfully engage with education, preparing them for reintegration or their next stage of learning.

This is a rewarding role for someone who enjoys building positive relationships, working collaboratively with others and making a genuine difference to the lives of young people.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Experience of working with vulnerable children and young people within education or a related setting.
  • Experience of coordinating pastoral support, attendance, inclusion or pupil welfare.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with pupils, families, schools and external agencies.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, attendance, behaviour and inclusive practice.
  • An understanding of SEND, the SEND Code of Practice and the graduated response, with the ability to support agreed strategies and communicate effectively with schools.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and maintain accurate records.
  • A resilient, solution-focused approach and a commitment to improving outcomes for vulnerable young people.

In return, we offer:

  • The opportunity to help shape the future of West Link.
  • A supportive and collaborative team.
  • High-quality professional development and opportunities for career progression.
  • A role where your work will have a direct and lasting impact on the lives of young people and their families.
  • Access to a comprehensive employee wellbeing programme.

If you are passionate about inclusion and believe every young person deserves the opportunity to engage, achieve and succeed, we would love to hear from you.

Visits to West Link are warmly welcomed and encouraged, please contact - 0113  322 5150 to book an appointment

Applications are preferred to be submitted via My New Term website (West SILC)

Closing date: 12 noon on Wednesday 15th July (please note we may interview strong candidates before the closing date)

Interviews will be held week beginning Monday 20th July

West SILC is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We expect all staff to share this commitment. This post is subject to an Enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references and all safer recruitment checks.
